A Unique Take On The Super Compressor Dive Watch Aesthetic

DESCRIPTION

Although this takes some design cues from a conventional Super Compressor case design. (Two crowns and an inner-rotating bezel.) This is not using the patented design made in 1953 by Swiss case manufacturer Ervin Piquerez S.A.

Instead, this is an early 2000's interpretation of the design. Going more for symmetry and boldness. Which can be clearly seen with the use of yellow accents and the choice to have it on a crocodile leather strap right out of the factory.

An awesome representation of the style of the 2000's, using modern materials and the build quality of a watch that should be triple its price. A special piece to be sure.

BRAND HISTORY

Although the brand, Daniel JeanRichard officially came into existence in 1988, the name actually goes way further back. Daniel JeanRichard was only 19 when he opened his first watch shop in 1691 near Le Locle, Switzerland and thus became one of the founding father's of watchmaking in Switzerland.

JeanRichard is known for its pioneering spirit and innovation in the watchmaking industry. In the 18th century, Daniel JeanRichard played a significant role in the development of the watchmaking scene in Switzerland. He was instrumental in advancing watch manufacturing techniques and introducing new innovations.

Over the years, JeanRichard has witnessed various ownership changes and evolutions. In 1983, the brand was acquired by the Sowind Group, which owned the Girard-Perregaux brand. The Sowind Group continued to invest in JeanRichard and positioned it as a distinct brand within its portfolio.

In the early 2000s, JeanRichard underwent a rebranding and revitalization effort. The brand focused on creating contemporary timepieces inspired by exploration, adventure, and sports. It aimed to capture the spirit of exploration and convey it through the design and functionality of its watches.

JeanRichard became well-known for its sporty and rugged timepieces with distinctive design elements. It created collections such as the Terrascope, Aquascope, and Aeroscope, which combined technical excellence with a bold aesthetic.

In 2011, JeanRichard became part of the Kering Group, a global luxury group. The acquisition by Kering brought additional resources and support to further develop the brand and expand its presence in the luxury watch market.

JeanRichard continues to produce timepieces that blend tradition, innovation, and exploration. The brand remains committed to Swiss watchmaking craftsmanship and is known for its quality, reliability, and distinctive design.

Please note that this is a summary of JeanRichard's history, and there might be more specific details or milestones that are not included here. Like I mentioned earlier, the condition of this piece is close to unworn. Absolutely zero scratches on the case, the only wear is somewhat on the strap which is curved due to being kept in a watch box.

The watch was never serviced when it was in the possession of the original owner. Since it got to our hands, it has been serviced by our professional watch maker and is running -10 seconds a day.
